I bought a new couch last year, and after a couple of weeks my cats took to scratching the hell out of them, mostly for, ahem, attention. Found these and put them on the places they liked to scratch. Oh, they tried to scratch a time or two to no avail, and the desire quickly subsided. Fast forward another year, and another new couch in a different room, so I bought some more. The first morning I work up, no they weren't clawing the couch , they were asleep on the back cushions. I already allowed them to sleep on the back of the other couch, which deformed the pillows, and I was having none of it with this new one. I bought this product because my new kitten kept ripping the sticky tape off of the couch. The product was extremely easy to install thanks to the adhesive. I didn't use the provided pins because I knew my cat would probably pull them out (or my young niece and nephew would do it during holiday if left unsupervised for a brief moment). I placed a scratch cover over the main area she liked to scratch and this new arrangement seems to be working better. There's a few new places on the couch she started to touch and I will need to cover those soon. So I bought another one to cover new areas!

These are a sturdier clear vinyl, they stick very well and the reverse side is a smooth sturdy vinyl that prevents any scratching while looking much neater than a double stick tape. I also opted to use the light twist "screws", they are clear, making them also blend well, yet provide extra hold if you want (though the product sticks well on it's own). My couch has a square arm corner which does make it an easy application, I did a small straight cut on the side to allow it to slightly overlap for a smooth application. The product is very transparent and extremely good quality.

I normally don't leave reviews, but I was impressed with the company's follow up to make sure I was happy with the product, so the least I can do is tell others that if you're looking for a scratch free furniture protector, you might want to give this one a try. There are several similar products out there and for all of them there's concern whether the material will actually adhere and stay adhered to the furniture. A week in and no problems so far. So I actually recommend this is to everyone.

My cat had made a hole on my sofa and thankfully it was towards the back and I can put the sofa against the wall where no one can see it. But then my cat started to sharpen her nails at the front of my couch. I have a uniquely sized couch that was quite expensive and hard to get in the house so there was no way I was going to buy another couch because a kitten decided to use my couch as a scratching post. I bought my kitten a wooden scratching post and another cardboard one and she also has a smaller scratching post, so there is no need for my cat to tear up my couch. But my kitten didn't listen and whenever I wasn't looking decided to use my couch as her scratching post. After putting up the these scratch free protectors my cat tried to scratch and wasn't able to scratch them because of which she was actually quite upset and has not tried to scratch my couch ever since!! I of course praise her and giver her treats for using the wooden scratching post again.

We just got a new couch and with a week our cats were reeking havoc on it. We tried ALL the things to the point half of my couch was wrapped in “press and seal” plastic. I looked but couldn’t find anything that would work on leather (we have faux) until I found these. So I grabbed TWO orders. When I got it I got right to work. It took me about 30min to get all the corners, consoles covered on our sectional but it was quite easy. The product sticks great! I can’t use the enclosed stabilizing pins (because of leather). So far so good. The cats can’t penetrate the covers and I had enough left over (out of two orders) to cover any other areas in the event they decide to try a new spot. My cats aren’t thrilled with me but I’m thrilled to save my $2k+ modular couch.
